The Story

Born from the morning light of Mt. Fuji

Fuji no Asa — "the morning of Mt. Fuji" — is our welcome to the world of Shizuoka matcha. It was designed with a single intention: to give everyone access to 80 years of expertise, at a price that makes daily ritual possible.

"The cup you reach for every morning should never be ordinary."

Grown in the volcanic soils of Shimada and blended by our 4th generation master, Fuji no Asa is shade-cultivated for 20 days and aged for 8 months. The result is a matcha that's bright and refreshing — like the first light touching the mountain.

The Heritage Behind Every Cup

80 years. One family. One region.

Since the 1940s, the Asahi family has cultivated and blended matcha in Shimada — a city at the foot of Mt. Fuji where the climate, the soil, and a four-generation obsession produce something you can taste.

Matcha
vs. Coffee

Coffee

Replacing your morning coffee with matcha doesn't mean giving something up — it means upgrading what energy feels like. No crash. No jitters. Just clear, sustained focus, backed by 80 years of Japanese mastery.

Matcha

Matcha combines caffeine with L-theanine — an amino acid found almost exclusively in shade-grown tea. Together they produce calm, sustained alertness without the adrenaline spike.

L-theanine promotes alpha brain wave activity — the same relaxed-but-focused state experienced in meditation. Your mind stays sharp. Your body stays still. No jitters, no anxiety.

Rich in EGCG catechins — the most potent antioxidant in green tea. One bowl of matcha contains the equivalent of 10 cups of brewed green tea in antioxidant value.

Coffee

Coffee delivers caffeine alone — a rapid, sharp spike in alertness followed by an equally sharp drop. The well-known "coffee crash" typically hits 2–3 hours after your cup.

A standard cup contains 80–100mg of caffeine with no L-theanine to buffer it. For many people this means jitters, anxiety, and heart palpitations — particularly on an empty stomach.

Coffee has significant acidic and addictive properties. Regular consumption can contribute to dependence, disrupted sleep, and reduced morning cortisol response over time.
